Yamato Drummers Basel and Cultural Learning at WeinbergU

As part of their preparation for the upcoming World Expo in Osaka, students from The Basel School took a break from their Japanese language practice to experience the world-famous Yamato Drummers Basel live in concert. This unforgettable event wasn’t just entertainment—it was cultural learning in action.

The Yamato Drummers Basel are known globally for their energetic Taiko performances—blending physical intensity, rhythmic precision, and theatrical flair. With every beat, our students saw discipline, coordination, and teamwork in motion. These are the same qualities they’ll be expected to apply in their future careers as global leaders.

This experience was part of our global business education at WeinbergU, helping students build cultural awareness and personal insights that go far beyond classroom learning.

Yamato – The Drummers of Japan have performed in over 50 countries, captivating audiences with their dynamic blend of tradition, athleticism, and raw energy. Their performances are more than shows—they are expressions of cultural identity, heritage, and pride.

And for us at WeinbergU, this is part of something much bigger.

Every five years, we take students to the World Expo to explore innovation, culture, and global business trends firsthand. From Milan in 2015 to Dubai in 2020 (delayed due to COVID—but yes, we went!), and now Osaka in 2025, these experiences open our students’ minds and expand their worldview.

For our students, experiences like this aren’t just memorable—they’re transformational. Engaging with Japanese culture before they even set foot in Japan helps them develop curiosity, humility, and respect—essential traits for any future global leader.

And that’s what sets WeinbergU apart. Real learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom. It happens when students connect with culture, reflect on real-world experiences, and begin to understand the broader context of international business.
