What does “Europe” mean—not just as a place, but as a system of trade, power, and identity?
This course asks you to step into that system, observe it up close, and start seeing patterns others miss.
The Danube is more than a river. It’s a living artery that has moved goods, people, and ideas across Europe for thousands of years—and it’s where your classroom begins.
We’ll board a river cruise ship that becomes both our home and our learning lab. Mornings might begin with seminars on trade policy or economic integration; afternoons are spent walking Roman roads in Linz, analyzing urban development in Bratislava, or meeting with local entrepreneurs in Vienna. Along the way, you’ll visit world-class museums, historic landmarks, and bustling markets—always connecting what you see to what you’ve studied.
This journey isn’t about passive sightseeing. It’s about noticing patterns, asking better questions, and learning how culture, policy, and economics intertwine. You’ll talk about what shapes European identity, how historical trauma affects modern diplomacy, and why regional trade blocs matter more than ever. And yes—you’ll also learn to waltz, because understanding culture means experiencing it.
